The undersigned hereby makes application, according to provisions of The Electrical Licensing Act for an Electrical Restricted Contractor's Licence.

i.All persons doing electrical work for an electrical restricted contractor working in Saskatchewan are required to hold an electrical restricted Journeyperson's licence issued by the Technical Safety Authority of Saskatchewan.

ii.Non-designated trades - an Electrical Restricted Journeyperson‘s Licence is only valid while the Journeyperson is employed with the electrical restricted contractor at the time that he applied for the Electrical Restricted Journeyperson's Licence. The electrical restricted contractor must enclose a letter of recommendation requesting that the person be licensed for his company.


NOTE: If you are unsure of when your licence expires, search here ‘Find a Licensed Contractor or Operator’. We can only renew your licence if it expires within a few months. If you do not appear on the directory, you do not hold a valid licence.

Licensed qualifying restricted electrical journeyperson cannot be employed by any other licensed restricted electrical contractor or licensed electrical employer while they are listed on the contractor's list of employed journeyperson.

Journeyperson listed for the company must always hold a valid Electrical Journeyperson’s Licence.

Bond Information

The applicant for the Restricted Electrical Contractor's Licence must provide a guarantee bond in the penal sum of $10,000 or $30,000 to the Technical Safety Authority of Saskatchewan. (Such a bond is available from any insurance company licensed in Saskatchewan).

If the applicant is using a trading/business name, this name must appear on the electrical restricted contractor's guarantee bond.
