Electrical Contractor's New Licence Application

The undersigned hereby makes application, according to provisions of The Electrical Licensing Act for an Electrical Contractor's Licence to employ electrical journeyperson.

i. All Electrical Journeyperson working in Saskatchewan are required to hold an Electrical journeyperson's licence issued by the Technical Safety Authority of Saskatchewan.

ii. At least one licensed Electrical Journeyperson on staff must have a Saskatchewan certificate or Inter-Provincial certificate and at least two years’ experience in the electrical trade. (Date of Qualification).



NOTE: If you are unsure of when your license expires, search here ‘Find a Licensed Contractor or Operator’. We can only renew your license if it expires within a few months. If you do not appear on the directory, you do not hold a valid licence.
Bond Information

The applicant for the Electrical Contractor's Licence must provide a guarantee bond in the penal sum of $10,000 to the Technical Safety of Saskatchewan. (Such a bond is available from any insurance company licensed in Saskatchewan).

Please have your insurance broker email a signed scan of the original bond to gelicensing@tsask.ca The base of the email must contain The attached is a true copy of the original bond as issued"

If the applicant is using a trading/business name, this name must appear on the electrical contractor's guarantee bond. e.g. Tim Tully O/A Tim’s Electric OR Tim’s Electric O/B

Bonds

Instead of printing and mailing bonds, you can now send the bond electronically provided the following criteria is met:

E-bonds must be emailed from the issuing insurance agency to gelicensing@tsask.ca.
The email must have the following declaration in the body of the email: "The attached is a true copy of the original bond as issued.”
The email must include the name, address, phone number and email address of the broker and the surety company.
